PLACE Test Dates

Program for Licensing Assessments of Colorado Educators (PLACE) administers a collection of exams and requires that future educators pass either one or a combination of exams.  Generally, these exams are multiple-choice; however, some tests include a performance component, such as listening comprehension or writing.  These tests include language tests, the Special Education Specialist: Visually Impaired test, as well as the Basic Skills test.  Scoring for these exams is released on a different schedule.  See the chart below for details regarding test dates, registration, and scoring timelines.

Registration may be conducted either online, by mail, or over the phone.  However, mail-in registration is not available during the emergency registration period, and registration by telephone is not available during the regular registration period.

The PLACE webpage on Internet registration has instructions and links to a variety of resources that you may find useful.

Keep in mind that not all test locations administer the test at all of the above times, so it is important to plan well in advance. More registration information can be found on the PLACE Registration Checklist.

Before you register, you will need to know first which test you need to take, because not all tests are administered on each of the dates given above.  After you select the test you want, you will be able to figure out when and where you would like to take it.
