The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) tests assess the knowledge and skills of prospective teachers in Georgia public schools. Overseen by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC), the GACE tests come in computer-based form only. More than one test is required for some assessments. For this reason, the GACE takes place over a number of appointment times throughout the date of the exam.
Registration for the test is performed primarily online. There are some exceptions allowing mail-in registration, but you must meet certain requirements. You can find those by navigating to the Bulletin Supplement for Test Takers with Disabilities or Health-Related Needs. You are encouraged to register online as early as possible.
GACE assessments are available to take several times per year. These days are referred to as “testing windows.”
For information on what you can bring to the test site on test day, see the GACE Frequently Asked Questions.
The GACE assesses test fees on a per/test basis, and can add supplemental fees. See the chart on the Test Fees and Payment Policies section of the GACE website for details.
