DAT Test Dates

The Dental Admission Test (DAT) is the primary test used by dental schools as selection criteria for applicants to their program.  Operated by Prometric, the computer-based test may be scheduled at any Prometric test center across the country.  (For a listing of Prometric locations, either visit the Prometric website or call 800-688-5804.)

While test centers offer the DAT year-round, that fact does not ensure that you will be able to schedule your first choice.  In order to ensure that you can reserve a convenient test time and date, Prometric advises that tests be scheduled three months in advance.  This does not include the application to take the test, which must be conducted through the American Dental Association (ADA).

Accommodations

There are three components to a request for special accommodations and all must be submitted together:

  1. a completed Test Accommodation Request Form
  2. supporting documentation (i.e., medical reports completed within the last five years)
  3. the application to take the DAT test.
